What a wellness check investigation does

A wellness check investigation can help when family, friends, an attorney or a property manager cannot reach someone and need information about their circumstances. Crossroads works to locate the person, check how they are where that can be established and report what was found. An investigation cannot guarantee that a person is safe or prevent harm.

Explain the concern before work starts

Tell us who you are trying to reach, your relationship to them, the last known contact, known addresses and the reason for concern. Explain what you have already tried and whether an emergency service is involved. Do not wait for a private investigation if emergency help is needed.

Scope, privacy and findings

Discuss the purpose of the check, what information may be gathered and who may receive the findings before the assignment begins. Finding a person does not automatically mean their private information can be shared. We explain what we were able to establish and what remains unconfirmed.
